Could there be an economy generated out of compassion?
Are there financial institutions that prefer people over profit?
Could ‘interest-free’ be of any interest in the 21st century? These are the questions that Dr. Amjad Saqib, Founder of Akhuwat (http://www.akhuwat.org.pk/) will be answering in his talk at Oxford University. Dr. Amjad Saqib established AKhuwat in 2001 with the objective of providing interest-free microfinance to the impoverished and underprivileged members of society to enhance their standards of living and enable them to improve their livelihoods. After providing interest-free loans to 1.8 Million poor families, Akhuwat is now particularly focusing on education services as Akhuwat considers access to quality education is crucial to promoting the welfare and laying down the foundations of poverty-free society. This event is organized in collaboration with The Loop Global Management. Ms. Aneeqa Malik, the founder of The Loop Global, is also co-authoring a book with Dr. Amjad Saqib on the successful business model based on Mawakhat-e-Medina and spiritual philosophy.
